Since early April 2025, a brand-new ETF Allround Cutting Machine type M 5523 has been successfully installed and is now fully operational at Feltex Automative in South Africa.
Feltex Automotive is a key supplier in the automotive industry, delivering high-quality acoustic, seating, and trim components made from textile and polyurethane materials. To support their growing production demands, they chose the versatility and reliability of the ETF Allround Cutting Machine.
The machine processes needlefelt from mother rolls up to 2,500 mm wide. From the guided unrolling cradle, rolls can be unwound both from the surface and from the center.
A bi-directional, high-speed cross-cutting unit ensures precise cutting lengths using the scissors-cut principle.
Blankets are then smoothly transported via a belted table to the stacking area.
This table integrates a state-of-the-art length measuring system with an automatically adjustable stop, easily controlled via the operator’s panel to match exact sheet length specifications.
The first milestone is standing tall!
An impressive accumulator marks the start of a brand new end-of-backing line for vinyl, currently being built at ETF for one of our long-standing customers in Germany.
Their previous ETF line served faithfully for 35 years and now it’s time for a fully automated, next-generation solution. Designed for efficiency and tailored with custom features from start to finish.
In the near future, this line will deliver perfectly finished, paper-wrapped vinyl rolls, ready for shipment to our customer customers.

After nearly 51 years at ETF, with 38 years at the helm of ETF Machinefabriek and ETF Ride Systems, our esteemed CEO and owner, Ruud Koppens (67), has retired
Ruud decided to step down in good health to spend more time with his family and friends. Under his leadership, both ETF Machinefabriek and ETF Ride Systems experienced significant growth and success.
He leaves both companies in capable hands, with a well-established team leading the way. A private family group, deeply involved in the industries in which ETF operates, has taken over ownership. They plan to maintain both companies as independent entities, with the same team and location.
The entire ETF team is deeply grateful for Ruud’s contributions and leadership. We wish him all the best for the future and express our appreciation for the legacy he leaves behind.
At ETF, we don’t just build machines; we cultivate a culture of imaginative engineering that serves as the vital foundation for the way we work at ETF Machinefabriek.
Imaginative Engineering is the creative spark that fuels innovation and results in ETF Machinefabriek’s precision machinery for industries like carpet, vinyl, and non-woven
ETF Machinefabriek: crafting precision with imagination
Imaginative engineering is the force driving our design and production of state-of-the-art processing machines. Whether it’s a carpet destined for your living room or artificial grass for outdoor spaces, every product that touches an ETF machine is a testament to the imaginative craftsmanship.

In the beginning of 2017 ETF installed a new outlet line at one of her appreciated customers.
At the end of a production line which produces materials with a width up to 2 meter an accumulator, a versatile rolling machine and a wrapping winder were installed.
After the material is produced it can be temporarily stored in an accumulator.
This gives the operator the opportunity to e.g. eject a ready roll and start a new roll on the rolling machine without he need to stop the line.
The accumulator is equipped with a motor driven balancing system for the accumulator bridge which results in a perfect tension control.
The versatile rolling machine type M 5728, which was completely redesigned in 2015, creates straight and tight rolls.
Since the material is cut in the cross direction only after the ready roll is ejected, the material stays between the rollers continuously which means this type of rolling machine is very beneficial as well for very flexible and light weighted materials.
A width guiding system under the rolling machine controls the straight winding of the rolls.
In order to create tight rolls, e.g. to save transport volume, the rolling machine is equipped with a driven push roller.
This roller pushes on the roll during winding due to which extra tension is created.
Since the push roller is driven no material loops will be formed in front of the roller.
After the roll is ready wound it is ejected to a wrapping winder onto which the roll is manually wrapped when already the next roll is being made on the versatile rolling machine.
The wrapping winder is equipped with load cells to measure the weight of the total roll.
